The Mountain Home High School track teams began the outdoor season on a good note by winning the Van Buren Running Festival on Friday.
The Bomber boys dominated, as they finished 65 points ahead of the host Pointers. Brody Patterson won the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Anderson Hodges won the 400-meter and 800-meter runs, Ky Bickford was second in the 1600-meter run, Hendrix Hughes ended up second in the 3200-meter run and fourth in the 1600-meter run, Bryson Hodges took second place in the 800-meter run and fifth place in the 1600-meter run, Dylan McBride finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles, and Adrian Bzdel was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. Mountain Home also had teams win the 4×400-meter and 4×800-meter relays and end up fourth in the 4×100-meter relay.
Mountain Home’s girls finished 11 points ahead of Fort Smith Southside. Rylee Patterson won the 3200-meter run and took second place in the 1600-meter run, Laurel Chafin won the 100-meter hurdles and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles, and Jordan Ritenburg won the 1600-meter run and was third in the 800-meter run. The Lady Bombers also had teams end up second in the 4×800-meter relay and third in the 4×400-meter relay.
