A change has been announced to one of the locations for early voting in Marion County for this year’s primary and general elections. The polling location has been moved from the Marion County Courthouse in Yellville to the Marion County Fairgrounds Community Building in Summit.
According to Marion County and Circuit Clerk Dawn Moffet, the change has been made for the convenience of the voters in the county. Ample parking, compliance with the American Disabilities Act and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have led to this decision. Moffet also says the community building will have more room and more machines available.
For the primary, early voting starts May 9 and continues weekdays from 8 to 6 and Saturdays from l0 to 4. Early voting ends at 5 on May 23. Election Day is May 24.
Early voting for the general election will be held at the same times starting Oct. 24 and continuing through Nov. 7 at 5. Election Day is Nov. 8.
Bull Shoals City Hall will also hold early voting with the same dates and times. The polls at the Lazy Acres Firehouse will be open May 23 and Nov. 7 from 8 to 5 each day.
