A man is accused of threatening to rape and sexually assault a woman at her place of employment. Forty-three-year-old Dennis Maxwell is in the Stone County Detention Center facing a felony count of first-degree terroristic threatening and a misdemeanor of harassing communications.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Stone County Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton took a statement Feb. 9 from a female accusing Maxwell of sending numerous voicemails. Maxwell allegedly said he was going to sexually assault the female, and he hoped she wasn’t married, because he was going to her place of employment to rape her.

While on the phone, Maxwell reportedly admitted to committing a lewd act. The phone number in the system reportedly matched that of Maxwell, and he allegedly has a history of terroristic threatening.

Maxwell’s bond is set at $50,000. His public defender, Tammy Harris of Heber Springs, has filed a motion to suppress evidence in the case.
