The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash last month that claimed the life of a Mountain Home man has been charged with negligent homicide.
The victim, 21-year-old Blake Liveley, was a passenger in a car driven by Keith Stuebner.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the 21-year-old Stuebner of rural Mountain Home has also been charged with a misdemeanor of driving or boating while intoxicated.
One week after the one-vehicle crash on Rodeo Drive between State Highway 5 North and Burnett Drive in Mountain Home, Liveley died at Cox Medical Center in Springfield.
According to the Mountain Home Police Department, the vehicle the two were in left the roadway shortly after midnight on Feb. 12, hit a small tree, continued on and struck another tree on the passenger side.
A witness says she observed a vehicle in some bushes and dialed 911.
Online court documents note the witness said as she approached the vehicle, Stuebner was lying across the passenger, then climbed out the passenger side window.
The responding Mountain Home police officer reported observing Stuebner walking in front of the vehicle. He observed Stuebner was unsteady on his feet and was yelling with slurred speech. As the officer got closer to him, he could smell the odor of intoxicants.
The officer also reported as attempts were being made to help the victim, Stuebner kept interfering.
After being transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center with a reported possible injury, Stuebner consented to a blood test approximately three hours after the crash.
The results of the test conducted at the state crime lab indicates a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .153%. In Arkansas, an individual is considered driving while intoxicated with a BAC of 0.08% or higher.
The police report indicates Liveley’s restraint status was unknown, while Stuebner was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. All airbags were deployed.
