Ozark County voters select school board members, 1 city council position

In addition to the county wide internet sales tax issue, voters in Ozark County also cast ballots for school board candidates and one city council race Tuesday.

In school board races, incumbents Heather Bushner and Robby Walrath won a three-person race for two spots on the Gainesville School Board. Walrath finished with 396 votes and Bushner had 290. Laramie Johnson got 150 votes to finish third.

At Bakersfield, the two spots on the board went to Darren Johnston and Brad Maynard in a three-person race. Johnston received 65 votes and Maynard got 49, edging out Kyle Clayton who had 45 votes.

It was a four-person race at Dora with Dylan Leroy and Shelby Nold winning spots on the school board. Leroy received 102 votes and Nold had 95. Jessica Green finished third with 82 votes and Tim Master got 62 votes.

In the Lutie school district, Jennifer Garrison and Suzanne Meeks won the three-person race for two spots. Garrison had 101 votes and Meeks received 86 to squeak by John Lubbers who was third with 83 votes.

For the center ward position on the Gainesville City Council, Renee Schmucker was re-elected, defeating J.C. Barber 34 votes to 12.
