A former Baxter County man who was covicted of rape of an underage family member in Benton County in 2015 and sentenced to 17 years in prison has been returned to Baxter County to face sex crime charges locally. Waylon Lee Coker was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Friday on a charge of sexual assault. Coker was serving time in the Arkansas Department of Corrections when he was transferred to Baxter County.

According to the probable cause statement in the Baxter County case, Coker allegedly inappropriately touched the 13-year-old family member at his home in Baxter County in 2014. During questioning by law enforcement, Coker admitted the allegations were true.

Coker is facing a felony charge of sexual assault in the second degree on that charge.

Coker was convicted of two counts of rape of the same 13-year-old girl in Benton County in 2015. The probable cause affidavit in that case says Coker admitted to giving the girl alcohol and then raping her while she was asleep.
