Beau Browning and Jake Peck of Drury University went into the final day of the Strike King Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pros Shops at Lake Norfork Marina in Henderson with the lead, and they were able to keep it. The Panther duo took the touurnament title back to Springfield on Saturday with a two-day total of 10 fish weighing 30 pounds, 3 ounces.
Browning and Peck ended up with five fish weighing 11 pounds, 2 ounces, on the second day. That was enough for them to win a total of $2,699.
Kaleb Brown and Chad Mrazek of Lander University in South Carolina were the runners-up with a total of 10 bass weighing 29 pounds, 2 ounces. Ryan Thomas and Solomon Glenn of the University of Montevallo in Alabama had Saturday’s biggest catch at 17 pounds, 14 ounces, and that put them in third place with 10 total fish weighing 29 pounds. Aaron Shumaker and Hunter Enlow of Lander University had the biggest bass of the tournament at 4 pounds, 11 ounces.
Among the Arkansas schools, Cole Lamb of Arkansas Tech finished 10th at 24 3/4 pounds, Masen Wade and Davis Coleman of Arkansas were 159th at 8 1/4 pounds, Doug Wintle of Arkansas State ended up 162nd at 8 pounds, Jon Gekiere and Carter Welch of Arkansas took 167th place at 7 3/4 pounds, Jacob Swerdloff and Carson Hyles of Arkansas finished 163rd at 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and Remington Lawrence and Jade Craft of Arkansas Tech were 207th at 1 pound, 2 ounces. Terry Moore and Travis Clingensmith of ASU-Mountain Home were unable to come up with a catch.
