The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a man who fled from law enforcement Tuesday. William Huelsenbeck fled from Sheriff Cass Martin and was able to avoid apprehension following a short pursuit, but his sunglasses were captured.

In a social media post, the sheriff’s office says Sheriff Martin spotted Huelsenbeck in a truck at a residence on U.S. Highway 160 Tuesday. As the sheriff pulled into the driveway, Huelsenbeck, who has a felony warrant for failure to appear charges after being arrested for possession of a controlled substance, fled in his truck. He drove through the yard, down a lane for about one quarter of a mile and then high centered his truck on some rocks. At that point, Huelsenbeck fled on foot.

Sheriff Martin was unable to locate Huelsenbeck but he did find sunglasses the suspect dropped while fleeing. The social media post says “Sheriff Martin was kind enough to retrieve the glasses and brought them back to the sheriff’s office so that when Mr. Huelsenbeck is located and arrested, they will be here waiting on him.” The sunglasses are in a photograph along with a uniform from the Ozark County Jail.

Anyone with information about Huelsenbeck’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office at 417-679-4633. All information will remain anonymous.
