One teen was killed, and another was injured when they were struck by a boat late Sunday afternoon on Table Rock Lake in Taney County. A 15-year-old female from O’Fallon, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 16-year-old male from Ballwin, Missouri, was transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson with what were termed as minor injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the two juveniles were swimming at Breezy Point, near the Table Rock State Park Marina. The boat, driven by 62-year-old Christopher Johnson of O’Fallon, reportedly struck the teens and struck a rock bluff.
Johnson was not injured in the 4:15 p.m. accident. His boat had moderate damage.
This is the fourth boating fatality reported by Troop D this year.
