A man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into an apartment and stabbed the occupant multiple times with a knife. Thirty-year-old Micah Christian Sweaney of Harrison is being held on a $200,000 bond in connection with the incident and facing two class Y felonies, the most serious crime in Arkansas not punishable by the death penalty.

According to the affidavit from the Harrison Police Department which was released Friday, the incident happened at an apartment in Harrison May 29, but Sweaney was not arrested until July 3.

Police responded to the apartment in the early morning hours after the caller said he had been beat up and was bleeding. Upon arrival, officers determined the victim had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was able to identify Sweaney as his attacker. The victim said he, and a female friend, were in his apartment when Sweaney knocked on the door. After the two declined to open the door, it’s alleged Sweaney went to an open window, broke the screen and forced his way into the home. A fight ensued and the victim told police Sweaney had a knife stabbing at him, but he didn’t realize he had been stabbed until he saw the blood pouring out.

The female said she had an argument earlier in the evening with Sweaney and went to the victim’s apartment to hang out.

Sweaney is charged with attempted capital murder and aggravated residential burglary, both class Y felonies, and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief in the second degree.
