After a high temperature of 104 Tuesday afternoon, it looks like the Twin Lakes Area has one more day of heat and humidity before a big change happens in the weather pattern. Thomas Jones is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in North Little Rock. He says there will be rain chances Wednesday, but the chances will increase Thursday.

Since May 28, only 1.58 inches of rain has fallen in Mountain Home. Jones says even with the amount of rain in the forecast through Sunday, it may not be enough to ease the drought conditions.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor, which is updated each Thursday morning, shows all of northern Arkansas and southern Missouri to be in severe drought. The northern three quarters of Fulton County and southern half of Howell County are shown to be in extreme drought.

Jones says the chances of any severe weather over the next five days appears to be very low.
