Following the recent rainfall in the Twin Lakes Area, most counties in north central Arkansas have lifted their burn bans. The bans for Marion, Fulton, Izard, Searcy, Stone, Boone and Newton counties are no longer in effect.

The burn ban for Baxter County continues. Judge Mickey Pendergrass says with the current conditions and the upcoming forecast, he is not in a position to lift the ban.

The precipitation at the end of July has also reduced the wildfire danger throughout the state. According to the Arkansas Forestry Commission, Izard County is now at a low danger, and the remainder of the area is at a moderate danger.
