MHCA wins opener to volleyball season

The Mountain Home Christian Academy volleyball program began its season on a winning note Saturday when they traveled to Jonesboro to meet Northeast Arkansas Christian Home Education.

The Lady Eagles needed all three sets in the varsity match, but they were able to get the victory with scores of 22-25, 25-18 and 20-16. Kenna Riley had five kills, seven blocks and three digs for Mountain Home Christian; Caroline Robinson finished with four kills and five digs; Carolyn Rogers added two kills; and Maddy Simmons dished out nine assists.

Mountain Home Christian took the junior varsity match in straight sets by a final of 25-16 and 25-22. Sydelle Sebree ended up with three aces for the J.V. Lady Eagles, Rogers recorded two blocks, and Kytalin Cotter had three digs.
