MH fire marshal discusses problems fighting fires in electric cars, dangers of lithium batteries

The number of all-electric vehicles is on the climb in the United States as residents look for a cheaper source of transportation. There is a problem popping up for firefighters across the country with these vehicles…how to extinguish a fire in an electric car. These vehicles, along with other items like electric bikes, scooters and hoverboards, use lithium batteries which is the problem.

Mountain Home Fire Marshal Shawn Lofton joined Brad Haworth during the news at 7 Tuesday morning to discuss the dangers these batteries can pose.
