A sex offender charged with not abiding by the requirements of the registration program pled guilty to the charge against him during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.

He was sentenced to three years probation.

The charge of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender against 53-year-old Gary Dale Robertson was filed after he moved from his listed address in Mountain Home in the first week of December last year without leaving a forwarding address.

Offenders have 10 days to report such things as changes in address or employment to law enforcement.

Mountain Home Police discovered the situation with Robertson on January 5.

Robertson was required to register after being convicted of statutory rape in mid-June 2009 and again in late March 2010 – both times in Missouri.

The victim was listed a 17-year-old female and Robertson was reported to have been 40-years-old at the time.

He is a Level 2 offender with a moderate risk of re-offending.

It is not the first time Robertson has been charged with violating the rules. He was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in Baxter County on January 8, 2016 and placed on probation.

The arrest based on the first instance of failing to register came after the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint that a sex offender was living unregistered at a residence in the Buford area.
