The Mountain Home High School volleyball team had a rough outing on Thursday. The Lady Bombers lost in straight sets as Van Buren posted scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-16.
Carson Schmitz led Mountain Home with 10 kills, 12 assists and two blocks; Lauren Wehmeyer had eight kills and two blocks; Emma Wilber provided seven kills and six blocks; Anna McCarn added three kills and four blocks; and Lindsay Jensen finished with 19 assists and six blocks.
Mountain Home also lost the junior varsity match to Van Buren in straight sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-21. The J.V. Lady Bombers were led by McCarn with eight kills; Micayla Magis ended up with six kills; Ali Czanstkowski had six kills, 10 assits, two aces and a block; and Mia Jones dished out eight assists.
Cotter lost two matches to Marshall in straight sets.
The high school match ended with the Lady Warriors falling to the Lady Bobcats 25-12, 25-15 and 25-17. Morgan Zick provided five kills and seven digs for Cotter, Katlynn Wagoner finished with three kills and seven digs, Kylee Chastain ended up with two kills and 10 digs, and Adalynn Clonts added 10 digs. The Lady Warriors drop to 2-15 on the season.
Cotter also lost the junior high match to Marshall 25-8 and 26-24. The Junior Lady Warriors fall to 11-5 on the year.
Mountain Home came away with one win in three junior high matches against Annie Camp at Jonesboro.
The Junior Lady Bombers lost the freshman match in straight sets as the Lady Whirlwind posted scores of 25-23 and 28-26. Daelyn Harper led Mountain Home with four kills and five blocks, Lauren Rauls had nine digs, Kori Scroggins provided eight digs, Cara Jackson finished with eight assists and two aces, and Deanna Human added six blocks. The Junior Lady Bombers fall to 12-6 overall and 7-2 in the Northeast Arkansas Conference.
Mountain Home’s only win came in the eighth grade match as they beat Annie Camp in straight sets with scores of 25-23 and 25-22. The Eighth Grade Lady Bombers were led by Aleigh Lucas with three kills, Lydia Miller added two kills, Maddie Simmons had eight digs and five aces, and Ava Jones dished out five assists. Mountain Home improves to 6-2 on the season.
The seventh grade match needed all three sets, but Annie Camp beat Mountain Home 24-26, 25-20 and 15-4. The Seventh Grade Lady Bombers drop to 5-9 on the year.
