The Mountain Home Christian Academy varsity volleyball team’s season came to an end this weekend in the Heartland Christian Athletic Association Conference Tournament in Fort Smith. The Lady Eagles advanced as far as the Class 2A semifinals.
Mountain Home Christian began pool play by beating Owasso Preparatory Academy from Oklahoma in straight sets with scores of 25-10 and 25-22. The Lady Eagles later suffered a three-set loss as Southwest Christian School from Little Rock posted scores of 22-25, 25-16 and 15-6. Mountain Home Christian finished pool play by beating Garrett Memorial Christian School from Hope in straight sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-14.
The Lady Eagles started bracket play with a three-set victory as they topped West Side Christian School from El Dorado 22-25, 25-23 and 15-11. Mountain Home Christian was eliminated in the semifinals in straight sets as Gospel Light Christian School from Hot Springs posted scores of 25-16 and 27-25.
Maddy Simmons and Kenna Riley made the All-State team and were invited to play in the All-Star game in Fort Smith on Oct. 29. Riley was also named to the All-Tournament team.
