The early season cold snap in the Twin Lakes Area has led to a new record low temperature being set. At the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot studios, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service, the low Wednesday morning reached 26 degrees. This breaks the old record of 28 degrees set in 1989.
It’s the fifth earliest date in the fall in Mountain Home history the temperature has reached 26 degrees or lower.
The coldest October temperature on record is 18 degrees which happened Oct. 30, 1917.
The cold temperatures won’t last long. The high Thursday will be back into the low 70s and by this weekend, the highs will be near 80.
The dry weather will continue for several more days. The next chance of rain is Monday and Tuesday.
