The Mountain Home Education Foundation will be recognizing one of its former board members at Thursday evening’s Night of Honors with an honor named after a long-time voice at KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot. Julie Wright will be enshrined into the Hall of Honor’s Class of 2022 with the first Bob Knight Bomber Spirit Award.
Wright says she feels honored to receive the award named after one of her dearest friends.
Listen:
The foundation was designed to support the educational programs for both students and staff of the Mountain Home School District. Wright says Mountain Home has always been a community that supported its school system, even when she attended and the district was considerably smaller.
Listen:
Wright graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1964, and she’s seen the district go through several changes, mainly in size. With all of those changes, she says the goal to get its students ready for the next step in life remains the same.
As honored as Wright says she to be receiving the award, she sees the work of the foundation as a group effort. One of those efforts she is truly proud of is the partnership with Arkansas State University-Mountain Home through the Promise Scholarship.
