Alicia Lewis

A woman appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday and admitted she had violated the terms and conditions of her probation in a 2019 case.

Forty-year-old Alicia Janine Lewis was sentenced to five years in prison.

In the 2019 case Lewis was found to have drug paraphernalia in her possession during a traffic stop in early March.

When the vehicle she was riding in was stopped, the officer described Lewis “as showing signs of being under the influence of a stimulate.”

He said she also exhibited signs of long-term methamphetamine abuse and was reported to have sores on her skin, involuntary muscle jerking, irregular facial twitching, an inability to sit still and poor skin complexion.

TRYING TO SNEAK DRUGS INTO JAIL

In the 2019 case, Lewis was also charged with bringing drugs into the county jail, possession of methamphetamine as well as paraphernalia used to ingest the drug.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Lewis was found to have a plastic bag hidden in her vagina containing a substance testing positive for methamphetamine.

Lewis was put on probation for five years in the 2019 case.

A petition to revoke her probation was filed in early September. The petition contains a number of alleged violations of the terms and conditions of Lewis’ probation.

NEW CRIME

One major violation was her arrest in August on charges of stealing more than $4,000 of electricity from North Arkansas Electric Cooperative.

The alleged theft of the power came to light when an NAEC serviceman did a routine meter check on June 20 at an address along Windmill Lane in Mountain Home.

The serviceman found the meter at that address had been tampered with in such a way that power was flowing to the residence, but not being monitored so it could not be billed.

According to NAEC records, another woman was the account holder. A serviceman pulled the meter and sealed the meter base on January 6, 2020.

NAEC has estimated that from January 6, 2020 to June 20, 2022, the power usage would have amounted to more than $4,000.

According to the probable cause affidavit, both Lewis and the other woman reside at the Windmill Lane address.
