A Flippin woman arrested three times in just a few days appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Thirty-nine-year-old Crystal Parnell pled guilty to drug-related charges filed against her in Baxter and Marion Counties.

She was sentenced to six years in prison with a judicial transfer to one of the Community Correction Centers in the state.

Circuit Judge John Putman told Parnell that her drug use “is just not working out for you…and you need to go another way.” He said he hoped she took advantage of the treatment she would receive at the Community Corrections Center.

Her first arrest in the series came on October 19 of last year when drugs were found in her vehicle that had been stopped by a Mountain Home police officer.

She was booked into the Baxter County jail just before midnight on the 19th.

Documents in the next arrest are dated October 20. Parnell was charged with bringing drugs into the jail concealed in her underwear as she was being booked on charges stemming from the late night October 19th traffic stop.

Parnell was released on bond but was arrested again October 28 when the car she was driving was stopped by a Gassville police officer after a check on the vehicle showed Parnell might not have valid insurance.

During that stop, a search turned up a set of digital scales in Parnell’s purse. A substance on the scales field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Parnell’s charges from the three different arrests include counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and attempting to sneak contraband into the Baxter County jail.

A number of other drug-related cases have been filed against Parnell through the years in Marion County.
