The Mountain Home High School Marching Band competed Monday afternoon at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association (ASBOA) 5A-6A-7A State Marching Contest at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock where they finished in 6th place in class 6A, just ahead of Benton and Greenwood.

The band completed another successful fall competition season. They finished 9th at the Pride of the Ozarks Invitational on September 24 and 8th place at the Branson Invitational on October 15. The band also received superior first division ratings at the Arkansas School Band & Orchestra Association (ASBOA) Region VI Marching Contest on October 18 in Rogers. These ratings earned the band a spot in the state marching contest and allowed the group to complete the first portion of the ASBOA Sweepstakes Award, with the concert & sight reading competition coming next spring.

Thursday evening at 7, the band will hold their annual marching band exhibition at Bomber Stadium. The junior high band will perform their show “Ahoy” followed by the high school band’s performance of “4 Every Season.” Senior band members will also be recognized. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Bomber Band will travel to Orlando November 20-26 to participate in a movie recording session at Universal Studios and will march in the Universal Holiday Parade, featuring Macy’s on November 22. In addition to these performances and enjoying the theme parks, the band will also be visiting the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
