Mountain Home High School took part in the Arkansas State Cross Country Meet and left Hot Springs with more hardware. The Bomber boys captured the team’s fifth Class 5A state championship, and the girls finished fourth. It was the 10th state title overall for Mountain Home’s cross country teams.
Mountain Home ended up 28 points ahead of runner-up Siloam Springs in the boys’ team standings. The Bombers were led by Ky Bickford as he crossed the line in third place with a time of 16:06.27. He was joined on the All-State team by Hendrix Hughes in seventh place, William Hill in ninth and Ty Lawrence in 15th. The individual champion was Greenwood’s Noah Embrey.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Bombers finished behind Greenwood, Lake Hamilton and Vilonia. Mountain Home’s top runner was Erika Krueger as she ended up 12th in a time of 20:51.83 to get All-State honors. Olivia Pielemeier of Lake Hamilton was the individual winner.
