The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Research and Extension will be hosting pesticide license training both in person and online. In Arkansas, a private applicator license is required for the purchase of restricted use pesticides. For hay and pasture producers, that is primarily herbicides that contain 2, 4-D and insecticides that contain pyrethroids used to control armyworms.
The local in person training session will be held Tuesday evening at 6 at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. Cost is $20 for the training, with check or exact cash preferred. Additional licensing costs are $10 for a one year license and $45 for a five year license.
