Multiple races decided in Fulton, Izard Counties.

Fulton and Izard Counties had a number of races determined on Election Day.

Republican Kenneth Crow has been elected as Fulton County judge, defeating Todd Doty by 48%. Crow received 2,909 votes while Doty received 1,043.

The Fulton County Sheriff for 2023 will be Republican Jacob “Jake” Smith who defeated Independent Dallas Montgomery with 3,175 votes while Montgomery received 753 or 19%.

In the race between John R. Emery, Dennis W. Kinder and Justin Luther for Justice of the Peace District 2, Republican Dennis W. Kinder has been elected with 307 votes. Emery received 128 and Luther received 90.

For the City of Horseshoe Bend, incumbent Craig Huckaby has been defeated in the race for Mayor. Challenger Duane C. Delair will take the seat in 2023 after receiving 483 votes. Huckaby received 442.

For City Council ward 1, position 1, incumbent Luther Yaney has been reelected, winning with 68 votes. Challenger Jeremiah Dunklee received 47 votes. The race for City Council Ward 1, Position 1 was a close call. Loretta Purkey has been elected after receiving 60 votes and defeating incumbent Kathi Purnell who received 54 votes.

Incumbent Jeanette Hilliker has been reelected to the Ward 2, Position 1 seat after receiving 170 votes against challenger Brian Thomas who received 128.

Incumbent David Harmon will keep his position for Ward 2, Position 2 after he received 151 votes or 52% against challenger Brett Marlin who received 139 votes or 48%.

A race has developed for Ward 3, Position 1 as both incumbent Edward Worthington and Uriah Mead both received 88 votes each.

George Williamson Jr. has defeated incumbent Jackie Kizer for the Ward 3, Position 2 seat. Williamson received 95 votes, while Kizer received 83.

For Ward 4, Position 1, Carol A. Spencer has won the race against Josh Jackson. Spencer received 188 votes, while Jackson received 130.

Three races were decided for the City of Hardy City Council positions. Jason Creasy received 6 votes, winning the seat for Ward 2, Position 1 against Scott Quintana who received 4 votes.

The Ward 2, Position 2 seat has been given to incumbent Tony Berry who defeated Bruce Thurow by 20% of votes.

For the City of Mammoth Spring, Danny Busch has been elected as Mayor. Busch received 219 or 80% of votes, while challenger M. June Grant received 53 votes or 20%.

For City Council Ward 1, Position 1, Robert Bennett has won the seat with 170 votes against Charles Vaughn who received 90, and for Ward 2, Position 1 Barry O’Dell won the race with 167 votes or 66%, compared to Roy Dan Grant who received 84 votes or 33%.

Only one race was decided on Election Day for the City of Ash Flat, incumbent Mike Nix has been reelected for the position for City Council Ward 1, Position 2. Nix received 7 votes with challenger Glenn Halfacre receiving none.

In Cherokee Village, Steven Rose has been elected as Mayor. Rose received 162 votes, defeating challenger Rob Smith by 48 votes, after Smith received 114. The other challenger, Chris Burkeson, received 19 votes. For the City Council Ward 3, Position 2 seat, incumbent Steve Thompson has been elected by winning with 196 votes compared to challenger Joey Whited’s 81 votes.
