Tennison to step down as MH freshman girls’ basketball coach

Less than seven months after announcing his hire, the head coach of the Mountain Home freshman girls’ basketball team is stepping down. Keeton Tennison will be coaching his last game Thursday night at Greene County Tech in Paragould.

Mountain Home athletic director Mitch Huskey says Tennison came to him and Mountain Home High School girls’ coach Dell Leonard last week and told them he was leaving for family reasons.

Huskey praised Tennison for the job he did for the short time he was leading the Junior Lady Bombers. The Mountain Home athletic director called Tennison one of the best player-development coaches he’s seen in a long time.

Following Tennison’s departure, Noah Chagnon will take over as the team’s interim coach. Chagnon has been the head coach of the Mountain Home High School tennis and track teams, but Huskey says his main background is basketball.

Chagnon’s first game as the Junior Lady Bombers’ head coach will be Monday at home against West Memphis East.
