Two boil water orders have been issued, while two remain in effect.According to the Arkansas Department of Health, boil orders have been issued for the Mountain View Waterworks system in Stone County and for the Mockingbird Hill Water Association in Newton County.
The boil order for the Mountain View Waterworks was issued Thursday due to a main break for residents in the Cedar Hill subdivision, Meadow Hills subdivision, all of Annette Lane, two houses on Happy Hollow Road and Tubbs subdivision located north of Tubbs Court.
The boil order for Mockingbird Hill Water Association was issued January 11 due to multiple meters failing throughout the system for residents from Old Highway 7 to the Fairgrounds to Hillside Drive to Will Jones Road. The boil order issued on January 6 for the area around Will Jones Road remains in effect due to several water meters and exposed lines freezing.
A boil water order also remains in effect for Fish and Fiddle Resort in Baxter County. The order was issued October 26 due to inadequate disinfectant levels for the entire system.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
