Two area men were seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday evening in Taney County, and the driver of the pickup truck was charged with a felony count of driving while intoxicated with physical injury. Twenty-year-old Seth James of Kirbyville and 22-year-old Reason Newman of Merriam Woods were transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson.

According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, James was the driver of the truck on Slough Hollow Road, and Newman was his passenger. They were nearly seven miles east of Kissee Mills when the truck ran off the right side of the road. James reportedly overcorrected, and his vehicle ran off the left side of the road, struck a tree and overturned.

James’ truck was totaled in the 7:45 p.m. accident.
