The recent rainfall in the Twin Lakes Area has caused levels on the local waterways to rise. Currently, no portion of the Buffalo National River is at a flood stage, but more rainfall is expected near the end of the work week.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the river is at a high water level in two areas. At 3:45 Wednesday morning, the level was seven feet at Harriet, where the flood stage is above 10.62 feet. Near St. Joe, where the flood stage is above 11.1 feet, the Buffalo River was at 7.69 feet.
The Bull Shoals Lake level has been over 672 feet since Tuesday afternoon. According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the top flood pool at the lake is 695 feet. Norfork Lake’s level has been over 564 feet since late Tuesday morning, and the lake’s top flood pool is 580 feet.
In the latest forecast from the National Westher Service, the Twin Lakes Area is expected to get anywhere from another half inch to a full inch of rain by Friday.
