According to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a report of property damage at the Junction Hill Pentecostal Church. The reporting caller stated he observed a male, who was known to him, damaging the windows of the church with a hammer.
During the investigation, deputies discovered a large rock had been thrown through the front glass doors, causing extensive damage. The reporting caller identified the suspect as Jared Caston of West Plains. Deputies went to Caston’s residence where he was arrested without incident.
A total of 13 windows and three doors were damages with an estimated cost of $15,000.
Caston was transported to the Howell County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with a felony count of institutional vandalism. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
