During Monday’s special meeting, one of the personnel matters addressed by the Mountain Home School Board was the selection of a new administrator. Dustin Rose has been hired as the new assistant superintendent of teaching and learning.

Rose currently serves as the principal at Sulphur Rock Elementary School in the Batesville School District. Shortly after his hire, he said in a statement, “I am ecstatic to be joining the Mountain Home Public Schools! I look forward to stepping into the position of Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and bringing in my relationship-based approach to education with an overall emphasis on student learning. I can’t wait to get onto our campuses, establish key relationships, and work alongside the amazing team at MHPS.”

Rose’s first day on the job will be July 1. He will succeed Allyson Dewey, who is being promoted to superintendent after the resignation of Dr. Jake Long becomes effective.
