Yellville-Summit girls top 2A-1 Junior Conference Track Meet

Three area schools sent their junior high track teams to Eureka Springs Wednesday for the 2A-1 Junior Conference Meet.

Yellville-Summit won the girls’ title, Ozark Mountain finished second, and Cotter was third.

For the Junior Lady Warriors, Izzy Wilhite ended up second in the triple jump, and Reagan Cowart took second place in the 200-meter dash. The team of Cowart, Kenna Collins, Annelise Francis and Wilhite won the 4×400-meter relay; Cowart, Riley Brotherton, Wilhite and Myah McNutt finished second in the 4×200-meter and 4×100-meter relays; and Marlee Dutcher, Liah Rudisill, Makenzie Vance and Rossalynn Crunkleton were third in the 4×800-meter relay.

Yellville-Summit’s Riley Hopson was the high point winner as she won the long jump, the triple jump, the high jump, the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs and the 400-meter dash. Also for the Junior Lady Panthers, Miah Klump won the discus and the shot put and ended up second in the 100-meter hurdles and third in the 300-meter hurdles, Blair Christie won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and took third place in the 100-meter dash, and Kennedi Coleman finished second in the pole vault and third in the discus. The team of Taylor Guillory, Lila Hurley, Kiona Lutz and Lainey McCalla was second in the 4×800-meter relay; Blair Castle, Khloe Gates, Brooke Ott and Coleman ended up third in the 4×400-meter relay; and Klump, Gates, Ott and Coleman took third place in the 4×200-meter relay.

For Ozark Mountain, Jasmine Fletcher won the pole vault, Maci Brumley finished second in the shot put, Jasmine Fletcher was second in the high jump, MaHaley Gilmore ended up second in the long jump and the 100-meter dash and third in the high jump and the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, Hannah Wheeler took second place in the discus and third in the shot put, Kiera Klienert finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the triple jump and the 100-meter hurdles, and Sarah Garner was third in the 800-meter run. The team of Chloe Marshall, Breann Samsel, Chyanne Phipps and Brumley won the 4×800-meter relay; Gilmore, Klienert, Jayden Applegate and Garner ended up third in the 4×400-meter relay; and Wheeler, Phipps, Brilee Keymer and Applegate took third place in the 4×100-meter relay.

On the boys’ side, Yellville-Summit finished second, Ozark Mountain was fourth, and Cotter ended up sixth. The win went to Life Way Christian.

For the Junior Warriors, Cole Principato won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and Cotter had a team taking third place in the 4×800-meter relay.




For Yellville-Summit, Cooper Craighead won the pole vault, Ethan McCalla finished second in the shot put, Zen Novak was second in the pole vault, Eden Hardy ended up second in the 1600-meter run and third in the 800-meter run and the pole vault, Noah Cantrell took second place in the high jump and third in the triple jump, Drew Vigna finished third in the 110-meter hurdles, and Canaan Darnell was third in the 400-meter dash. The team of Hardy, Vigna, Darnell and Norman Martin won the 4×800-meter relay; Craighead, Novak, Shawn Qualls and Isai Matias ended up third in the 4×100-meter relay; and Novak, Cantrell, Matias and Qualls took third place in the 4×200-meter relay.

For Ozark Mountain Kayden Sabo finished second in the triple jump and the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Grant Eddings was third in the shot put and the discus, and Brody Morris ended up third in the 1600-meter run.
