Flippin High School art students receive top awards at AYAA convention

On April 13, Flippin High School students attended the Arkansas Young Artist Association (AYAA) State Convention in Hot Springs. Several students earned top awards and were elected to serve in state offices.Adrianne Benedict received 2nd place for tempera realistic and Honorable Mention for 1st year painting.

Taylor Henley earned 4th place in the oil pastel realistic category.

Payne Moussa received 3rd place in the watercolor expressive category.

Sadie Akers received 1st place in acrylic abstract.

Flippin students elected to officers in AYAA. Taylor Henley was elected as State President; Kelsey Hickey was elected as State Corresponding Secretary; Kaylee Cheek was elected as State Treasurer; Adrianne Benedict was elected as State 1st Vice President; and Annaleigh Mitchell was elected as State 2nd Vice President.

In addition to these award, Payne Moussa received a Arkansas Young Artist Association Scholarship for $500.
