The Gainesville School Board last week approved a plan to build a new baseball/softball complex and student activity complex that will benefit students with interests. The facilities will be built on land across the street from the high school and junior high campuses on land that was the former airport.
Superintendent Justin Gilmore says the school’s baseball and softball teams have been playing for years off-campus at the fields north of the square owned by the Lion’s Club which are used for other teams as well.
