Norfork was among the area high schools that sent their track teams to Lincoln on Wednesday for the Class 1A State Meet. Both Panther teams finished ninth on the day.
The girls’ title was captured by Kingston. Omaha was eighth, Rural Special ended up 10th, and Mammoth Spring took 11th place.
Individually, Norfork’s Keely Blanchard won high jump and finished second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 400-meter dash, Rayleigh Turner of Rural Special was second in the triple jump, Kylan Stevens of Rural Special ended up second in the shot put, Mammoth Spring’s Taylyn Davis took third place in the high jump and the triple jump, Maddie Pyshny of Omaha finished third in the pole vault, and Jalen Burleson of Omaha was third in the 200-meter dash.
On the boys’ side, Ozark Catholic won the state championship. Omaha ended up eighth, Timbo took 11th place, Rural Special finished 25th, and Mammoth Spring was 27th.
Among the individual results, Norfork’s Ike Barrow won the pole vault and ended up third in the high jump and the triple jump, Gage Massey of Timbo took second place in the high jump, Trey Searle of Omaha finished second in the triple jump, Timbo’s Casen Cowell was third in the pole vault, and Jacob Morris of Rural Special ended up third in the 800-meter run. Omaha’s team of Jonathan McKinney, Briar Whitehurst, Dylan Greenwood and Kaleb Carlton won the 4×400-meter relay.
