Second suspect arrested from last Wednesday’s manhunt

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second suspect in the manhunt from last Wednesday.

According to a press release from Sheriff John Montgomery, investigators determined the identity of the second suspect as 56-year-old Charles Richard Cox of Clarkridge. He was located Monday and taken into the Baxter County Detention Center on multiple charges.

Cox is being held on felony charges of residential burglary, aggravated assault, possession of firearms by certain persons, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass, theft of property, violating a no contact order and probation violation with a penalty enhancement of habitual offender.

Cox remains incarcerated on $100,000 bond and will appear before the Circuit Court on June 12.
