A pair of students from the Dora R-III School District were recently honored by the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office. Mia Gray and Natasha Slavik are being celebrated for “outstanding citizenship” after reporting counterfeit money to authorities.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, Gray and Slavik reportedly found a counterfeit $100 bill. They immediately handed the fake currency to Dora Resource Officer Deputy Jeremy McKee.

The sheriff’s office is actively investigating the source of the counterfeit bill and is urging anyone with information to come forward. The office can be reached at 417-679-4633.
