Baxter County Clerk says audit of school election shows no problems with vote machines

Earlier this week, a group of 20 volunteers, the Baxter County Election Commission, the Baxter County and Circuit Clerk and members of her staff conducted an audit of the recent school elections in Baxter County. Clerk Canda Reese explains the reason for the audit.

Reese says the volunteers divided up into teams to conduct the counting of the ballots for what was a light election, with only 11 of the 13 vote centers used.

That early vote generated the most ballots and proved to be very long process for the auditors.

Reese says they advertised for the volunteers through the media and at committee meetings of both the Democrat and Republican parties in Baxter County.
