Area man struck, injured by vehicle in hit-and-run

A West Plains man was the victim of a hit-and-run after being struck by a vehicle late Monday morning on an area highway in Howell County.

Forty-one-year-old Michael Henry was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains with moderate injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Henry was hit by an unknown vehicle on Missouri Route JJ nearly six miles south of West Plains.

The driver reportedly fled the scene after the accident.

The accident occurred at 11:18 a.m.
