The Mountain Home City Council had a light agenda for Thursday night’s meeting. Mountain Home Police Chief Eddie Griffin asked the council to approve the exchange of .40 caliber training ammunition for 9mm training ammunition with a local business, Classic Pawn. The request came due to the recent upgrade of the department’s firearms. Classic Pawn would be trading round for round and no money would be exchanged. The council unanimously approved the request.

The council also approved the award of half of the pension of a late employee to her husband.  Approval for this had to come before the council due to being an employee not covered by the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System (APERS). Currently, three other employees and/or elected officials are not covered by the program. The council approved the request.

In other business, the council will not have their next regular scheduled meeting on June 15 due to the Arkansas Municipal League Conference in Little Rock. The council voted to hold their next meeting June 22 to discuss an outdoor recreation grant which would go towards projects at Clysta Willett and Hickory Park. To be eligible, a resolution to participate would have to be passed before the end of the month.
