The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas of Baxter County has been awarded a $500 grant from the Petfinder Foundation and Kia Accelerated for Good Program to support its efforts of reduced adoption fees on dogs.

Shelter Manager Carolyn Carter states this investment will provide the Humane Society of NCA to run a special reduced adoption fee of $10 on all dogs until funding is depleted.

Carter says, “The grant is very important to the pets in the community. For the current shelter dogs this will be a life changing event finding homes quickly, and for the over 100 who are waiting on space to become available, hopefully their time will be cut short as well. The support of the Petfinder Foundation and Kia allows the Humane Society to continue their lifesaving work of making a difference in the lives of the animals.”
