Confirmed tornado causes damage in Arkansas River Valley

A tornado was confirmed during Sunday’s early morning hours in the Arkansas River Valley. A social media post from the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock shows the tornado was confirmed by radar between 1 and 1:30 near Scranton in Logan County.

The weather service states chicken houses were destroyed, barns were damaged, and trees were on houses and cars. According to Fort Smith/Fayetteville television station KFSM, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities.

The National Weather Service has crews on location surveying the damage.
