2 Cotter residents killed in 2-vehicle crash

A two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in northwest Arkansas resulted in three people being killed, including two from Cotter. Forty-six-year-old Michael Weiss and 44-year-old Amy Weiss were both pronounced dead following the accident in Carroll County. Twenty-year-old Abigail Cox, whose location is unknown, was also killed. Eighteen-year-old Caleb Crow of Dallas, 19-year-old Joshua Case of Grapevine, Texas, 19-year-old Tiki Braner of Georgetown, Texas, and 19-year-old Joel Tibbits, whose location was unknown, all suffered injuries in the crash.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Michael Weiss was the driver of an SUV traveling on U.S. Highway 62, and Amy Weiss was his passenger. Crow was the driver of a pickup truck in the opposite direction, and Cox, Case, Braner and Tibbits were his passengers. The vehicles were east of Green Forest when the SUV reportedly crossed the center line and collided with the truck. The injured parties were transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison and Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The road was dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the 9:30 a.m. accident.
