Diamonds split 2nd day of bracket play in FASA World Series

The Mountain Home Diamonds had mixed results Friday as they continued bracket play in the Fastpitch America Softball Association Class C 16-and-Under and 18-and-Under World Series at Branson.

The Diamonds suffered their first loss in the bracket 8-0 at the hands of Indy Edge Mundy from Indianapolis. Kaelyn Gooch led Mountain Home’s offense by going 2-for-2, and Laken Anderson added a single in the second inning.

The Diamonds bounced back in their first elimination game as they dominated Atoka, Tennessee, 12-2. Mountain Home was led by Katie Camp as she went 3-for-3 with a home run.

The Diamonds will continue with another elimination game Saturday at noon at the RecPlex as they play the winner of the 9:00 game between Sugar and Spice and the Southern Illinois Vipers.
