White River Connect, a subsidiary of White River Valley Electric Cooperative, recently held a ceremonial event at the College of the Ozarks Hog Farm in Hollister to commemorate the start of construction on the high-speed fiber internet project.

Construction of the over 4,200 mile fiber project has officially begun in the areas of Branson and Sweden, Missouri. In May of 2023, White River Connect selected ITG Communications as general contractor for the project to provide high-speed internet to the rural areas of Douglas, Ozark, Stone, Taney and Christian Counties. The project is estimated to take five years to complete.

White River Connect CEO Beau Jackson states, “A year ago, the thought of providing high-speed internet to rural areas was only an idea. Today (July 20), we demonstrated our commitment to ensure those living in rural areas will soon have access to the best high-speed internet technology available.”
