On Tuesday, Judge Gordon Webb denied a motion requesting that the first-degree murder case of Baxter Stowers of Salesville be moved to juvenile court. The decision was appealed Thursday.
The notice of appeal was filed by Shane Wilkinson of Bentonville, one of the attorneys representing Stowers. According to the filing, the case will go to the Arkansas Court of Appeals.
Stowers was set to go on trial in Baxter County Circuit Court August 14, but the appeal will delay that timetable.
A hearing on the motion to transfer the case was held Monday.
