On Tuesday, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) was able to release a nursery pond, releasing an estimated 65,000 Walleye averaging seven inches into Bull Shoals Lake.
The Bull Shoals Lake Nursery Pond was stock on March 30 with Walleye fry. The AGFC states Walleye fry were expected to grow to an average of two inches by May. When they seined the pond in mid-May officials saw the fish grow in average of two to four inches. Due to high lake levels, the pond was unable to be drained completely until recently.
