The Ozark Mountain School District will be in session starting Tuesday with a major change. All of its students in seventh through 12th grades will be attending the new Ozark Mountain High School in Western Grove. The Bruno-Pyatt and St. Joe campuses, along with Western Grove, will remain open for for their students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Omaha and Jasper will also start classes Tuesday.

With the start of the school year, student safety in and around school buses becomes a priority for schools, parents and motorists. In Arkansas, it’s illegal to pass a school bus loading or unloading students with its red lights flashing. Drivers in all lanes, even on multi-lane highways, regardless of direction of travel, must stop at least 30 feet before reaching the bus.

At Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, classes for the fall semester are set to begin Aug. 21.
