A Douglas County man is accused of attacking another male with a pipe during a civil dispute. Fifty-nine-year-old Mark Springer of Squires is in the Douglas County Jail with bond set at $50,000 after a grand jury indicted him on multiple felony counts.

Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase says he, a deputy and a detective responded June 5 to a report of a civil dispute turning into a physical altercation. Upon arrival, it was determined Springer had hit another male with the pipe.

The victim reportedly had a camera on the dashboard of his vehicle recording the incident. Authorities reviewed the footage and discovered Springer allegedly approached the victim in a threatening manner, and the altercation ensued. Both individuals declined transport to the hospital and said they would go on their own.

On Aug. 3, Springer contacted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and said he was informed the cops were looking for him. Springer reportedly asked for a ride to the jail, and a deputy stated he was happy to oblige.

Springer is charged with one count of first-degree domestic assault resulting in serious physical injury, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of first-degree robbery. He has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
