Leading Edge Aviation Foundation (LEAF) and the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 775 will be hosting National Aviation day this Saturday at the Baxter County Airport in Midway. The holiday was established in 1939 by then president Franklin Roosevelt to share the joy of flying and demonstrate the value aviation brings to communities.
The event will run from 9 until 2 and KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot will be broadcasting live from 11 until 1 with the treasure chest. Many activities are planned including discovery flights, airplane static displays, water bottle rocket launch, kids entertainment and many food vendors.
Gerald Gaige board member and spokesman for LEAF says the discovery flights are always popular and funds raised help local students in furthering education in aviation studies.
